To provide an example, I was recently coerced into helping a friend of my mother prepare her home for sale. She was convinced that all of the offers were lowballing her, and she wanted an expert’s opinion on what she was doing wrong.
Driving down to Encinitas, I could see where her frustration was coming from – the interior of the home was exquisite. Plenty of space, a fully updated kitchen and bathrooms, and a lot of attention was paid to detail when staging.
Unfortunately, the problem became very apparent the second I parked in front of her home. It still had the thick, ugly hedges and brickwork that were so common in the era it was built, and those hedges were masking the real charm of the home.
